Eluned Schweitzer has been involved with international development for about twenty years, working in a variety of capacities on social welfare, education and health projects. She specializes in working in countries in transition or those either in or coming out of conflict and held multiple roles as project designer, manager, member and program advisor. Her interests and expertise in accountability issues arose naturally from working in those countries, where corruption flourishes after conflict and disaster. It was also integral to working in countries in the former Soviet Union, where lack of transparency was a major obstacle to improving service delivery and needed correction before countries were able to apply to the EU.
Eluned has also taught at a number of colleges as an adjunct including Georgetown, Columbia, George Washington, Catholic and Marymount, teaching courses on education, development issues and basic sociology as well as helping develop training courses. Eluned holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences.
